A proper introduction is due for the black woman and her hair. To actively put the world on notice that by no means do I pose a threat because I’ve chosen to display my most authentic self. For years a negative stigma has been associated with Black Natural Hair, that in turn has created a culture of women who do not recognize their own reflections. Civil Rights activist, Angela Davis said "I am remembered as a hairdo, "It is humiliating because it reduces a politics of liberation to a politics of fashion."
Spending years investing in a version of you that’s deemed worthy of society’s standard of beauty, takes hard work and dedication.
